Sporting Clays & FITASC

SPORTING CLAYS: 20th Skeet and Clays features a Sporting Clays course that is set on a winding three-quarter mile long road which crests near the top of Quimby Mountain - Hooksett, New Hampshire’s highest point. Up to 17 stations are set throughout the summer months which take advantage of the varying terrain and elevation. Shooters can experience target presentations above and below their feet, at varying speeds, angles and distances. Sporting Clays at 20th began in the early 1990’s and has grown to be a focal point of 20th’s identity in the New England sporting community. 20th throws between 2 and 3 Sporting Clays tournaments throughout the year which draw up to 150 shooters from around New England and the country. Find dates for upcoming Sporting Clays tournaments here.

From mid-April through mid-September, 20th holds Thursday Night Clays every Thursday night (weather dependent) where half of the Sporting Clays course is opened up to Members and the general public. Up to 75 shooters attend these informal events on any given week and allow shooters to stay sharp on their sporting game in a non-tournament setting. Dinner is also available after shooting and Thursday Night Clays is a great mid-week getaway. The Thursday Night Clays schedule is posted here.

FITASC: 20th features an old style FITASC Parcour set at the start of the sporting clays course during the mid-summer months. FITASC, often regarded as the purest form of clay target shooting, offers shooters the challenge of shooting from the low-gun position from 3 distinct pegs at a fixed set of 6 targets. A round of FITASC consists of 25 targets, with 13 thrown as singles and 12 thrown in either true or report pairs. Shooters are allowed full use of the gun on single targets - and as a result, FITASC targets are usually more challenging than those found on a sporting course.
